COCKTAIL RECIPES

Raspberry Mojitos

 


1 shot white rum
1 shot Living Sky Winery framboise
.5 shot lime juice
2 tbs sugar
soda water to taste
fresh mint
fresh raspberries

Measure 1 shot of rum and 1 shot of framboise into a tall glass.
Add 8 mint leaves and 6 raspberries to the glass (you can change to taste).
Add the lime juice and sugar and then gently muddle everything together to a syrupy pulp.
Add ice and top off with soda water.
Garnish with fresh raspberries and some more fresh mint.

Saskatchewan Gobble-tini

 


1.5 oz cranberry vodka
1 oz Living Sky Winery framboise
.5 oz cranberry juice
Saskatchewan high bush cranberries for garnish

Mix all ingredients in a shaker full of ice, shake well and pour into martini glass. Garnish with high bush cranberries for the ultimate Saskatchewan cocktail.

FOODIE RECIPES

Poached Pears Prairie Style




2 cups Living Sky Winery raspberry or rhubarb wine
4 bosc pears
3 tbs prairie honey
2 cinnamon sticks

Cut pairs in half so they are completely submersed in the liquid (add more wine if you have to). Heat the wine, honey and cinnamon until the honey is dissolved.

2. Slide in the pears in and make sure they are completely covered

3. Keep the liquid at a very low boil and simmer the pears until cooked through, 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the pears.

4. Remove pears and allow to cool. Continue to simmer the liquid until the wine reduces to about 1/2 the original amount. Allow to cool and pour over pears.

Raspberry Vinagerette

3 tbsp raspberries fresh or frozen
5 floz Framboise (Dessert wine)
1 floz red wine vinegar
8 fl oz canola oil
Squeeze fresh lemon

In a food processor add the raspberries and puree. while the machine is running. Add the Framboise, then add the red wine vinegar. Now slowly pour in the oil until emulsifie. Add the squeeze of lemon juice and taste. Pass through a fine sieve to remove the seeds. This dressing should be tart not sweet and will go great with fatty rich foods such as cheese
